What parents complain about, in their own words

"The guarantee won't be honored"

The loudest worry, and almost all of it at Princeton Review.

Money back guarantee is a scam.
Princeton Review · 1 star · Aug 29, 2026
…relied on obscure technical conditions that were not clearly disclosed to us before we enrolled.
Princeton Review · 1 star · Aug 28, 2026
My daughter started with a 1250 and took their class that guaranteed a 1400.
Princeton Review · 1 star · Oct 4, 2025
I believe the 1500+ is simply a bait and switch.
Princeton Review · 2 stars · Jun 16, 2026
There is no score improvement guarantee for any classes taken through the flagship Unlimited Prep

"I was charged for things I didn't agree to"

Monthly renewals that parents didn't expect, at Varsity Tutors and Prep Expert.

Whenever you get set up on the call with an agent, they don't tell you that it reoccurs charging every single month.
Varsity Tutors · 2 stars · Oct 26, 2026
However, a month later, I was automatically charged for a renewal anyway!
Prep Expert · 1 star · Aug 29, 2026

"The sales pressure is relentless"

Calls after a parent said no, and a free webinar that turns into a pitch.

…they continuously call every single day even after I have repeatedly stated…
Varsity Tutors · 1 star · Oct 26, 2026
The last 30+ minutes or so was a huge sales pitch, which I expected, just not as hard, and in as much detail.
Prep Expert · 3 stars · Jun 15, 2026
Not the live webinar like advertised.
Prep Expert · 1 star · Jul 1, 2026

"My child's tutor didn't show up, or was swapped"

Scheduling failures, mostly at Varsity Tutors.

The tutor was a no show this week and gave no indication he couldn't make it
Varsity Tutors · 3 stars · Oct 24, 2026

"It isn't built for my child, especially a strong student"

Reported at Princeton Review and PrepScholar.

There was very little personalized attention
Princeton Review · 1 star · Jan 22, 2026

Each competitor has its own repeated complaint

CompetitorRepeated complaint
Varsity TutorsMonthly charges parents didn't expect, daily sales calls, no-show tutors
Princeton ReviewGuarantee refused on fine print; not tailored to strong students
Revolution PrepScheduling, sessions billed without consent, silence after payment
Prep ExpertAuto-renewal, and a "live" webinar that ends in a hard sell
PrepScholarNo phone help, and too basic for strong students

So here's what I've changed on your page

A line under the booking button

It's free, there's no card and no obligation, and you usually reply within the hour. That answers the parents who feel nobody picks up after they pay.

Your hourly price

$250 an hour now sits next to the $7,500 package, so there are no surprises about what a lesson costs.

Your guarantee in one sentence

It now opens with the short version, because fine print is what parents say burned them.

What you never do

A new box on the page: no automatic renewals, no sales calls after you say no, and the same tutor at every lesson.

You can see all of it on the new page.

The reviews are on Trustpilot: Varsity Tutors, Princeton Review, Prep Expert, Revolution Prep and PrepScholar.
